Darkness
Nothing surrounds you.
There is no air.
No ground.
No light.
You are engulfed by a pitch-black void. Your eyes are strained open, but you cannot see. You shout for help, but cannot speak. You try to listen for a sound, but cannot hear. You grasp around for support, but cannot feel.
The ear-piercing silence resonates inside you, consuming your soul, crushing every bit of life in existence.
The darkness is choking your hope, making the little light in your heart diminish; grow duller and duller and duller until it is no more.
But that little light refuses to go away. It fights against the clasp of the inky abyss, forcing the pressure to push back; breaking against the bonds that tried to hold it down. Your hope grows, turning the tides, and reflecting off the barriers the darkness created. It blinds you with its pure white shimmer, filling you with warm tingles.
Hope is never completely lost; always remember that. Even when the shadows suffocate you, there is always a way.
Sometimes the void makes you feel like it's the end.
Sometimes it makes you want to give up.
Sometimes it turns you into this tangled mess of inexplicable emotions.
But that's fine. Because in the end, it's only a battle between light and darkness. Darkness only conquers if you let it. In fact, darkness is only an enemy if you perceive it as one.
If you're strong-willed, light will conquer.
But if you have hope, you can make darkness your ally.
And if you let that strength and hope guide you through the chaos of life, nothing will ever stand in your way.
