Plastic: For the Better or Worse

A bag rolls across the road, like a dustball in the desert. The sidewalks are coated with filth, conjoined by a thick layer of greasy oil. Every other step you take, you hear the crunch of a box under your feet. Once beautiful meadows are now filled with this junk, the pond water polluted with trash.
On the other hand, plastic makes this world go round. One simply cannot spend a single day without plastic, no matter how hard they try. Our bags, utensils, containers: everything is made of plastic these days. But the question remains: Is plastic for the betterment of our world, or is it for the worse?
If overused, plastic would most definitely harm our environment beyond repair. When in the wild, it clogs the digestive tracks of wildlife, it has poisonous chemicals that can contaminate our food, even when burned it releases fumes that harm our health. Despite this, all of these problems arose only because of improper disposal. If humans disposed of plastic waste in the correct manner, there would be no need to ban it. Instead, we use natural biomes as our wastelands, resulting in bad fortune for both us and the wildlife.
Another solution to plastic pollution would be to create alternatives to use in place of plastic products. These solutions would have to be reusable or biodegradable to keep the Earth clean in the long run. There are manufacturers of biodegradable plastic, which is a considerably healthy alternative.
Countries would have to take a joint effort to start cleaning campaigns. It isn't fair that some have banned plastic while others haven't. to save our planet, we'll need to work together.
Every item recycled counts.
Every biodegradable composted counts.
Every tree planted counts.
Every effort placed counts.
Every being counts.
If not for us, then for our future.
The Earth needs our help, why not assist?
