KOTLC Character Analysis: Fitz Vacker

In this Character Analysis Series, I'll be analyzing the characters of my favorite book series: Keeper of the Lost Cities! We'll look at traits they possess, and how we can learn from them. All the characters mentioned below are created by and belong to Shannon Messenger, the author. This post is about Fitz Vacker.

Fitz Vacker is the character who introduces Sophie to the Elvin World. He is a highly powerful Telepath, who later becomes Cognates with Sophie. Fitz joins the Black Swan along with the rest of his friends, and even though he may seem like he has a perfect life, he is just as fierce as all of them.

Fitz has quite a temper, and tends to yell at people when he gets angry. When Alden's mind broke, he blamed Sophie out of rage, but immediately apologized when he calmed down. He teaches us that even though we can do things we don't mean to our friends, it's never too late to work things out.

Fitz is always there for his friends and family, and his loyalty never wavers. He'll do anything for them, and when any of them need him around, he will turn up the next second. He was there for his sister when Alvar returned to Everglen, and is constantly showing up at Sophie's door with gifts to cheer her up. He tells us to be kind and caring; a shoulder to lean on when someone needs help.

Despite this though, Fitz is NOT a force to be reckoned with. He does not take lightly to those who betrayed them, and shows us to stand up for what we believe. 

Everyone believes Fitz has a perfect life because he's a legendary Vacker, but Fitz has problems of his own. He's a member of an illegal organization, for one; and his friends are constantly putting him in danger- even his own brother is a part of the Neverseen, an organization that tried to kill them all! In spite of all this, Fitz remains as optimistic and charming as ever, always ready to lend a hand. It goes to show that you can't judge a book by its cover, and anyone can do anything if they try hard enough.
